Krystle was killed and Karen, though she survived, lost her leg.<\/p>\n<p>The article tells the story of how, even as she was dealing with her own challenges, Karen was inspired to help a teenage girl from El Salvador, Estefan\u00eda Salinas, who lost her leg in a tragic auto accident.   <br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gregorytracy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Miracle-After-the-Marathon1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Miracle-After-the-Marathon\" style=\"border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Miracle-After-the-Marathon\" src=\"http:\/\/gregorytracy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Miracle-After-the-Marathon_thumb1.jpg\" width=\"507\" height=\"332\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Karen worked to bring Estefan\u00eda to Boston in late February for treatment and I am happy to report she took her first steps with her new prosthetic leg in March.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">&#160;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/gregorytracy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Estefania_Feb_Arrival_01.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mauricio Quiroga pushes Estefania Salinas in her wheelchair as she arrives at Logan International Airport Feb. 27, 2014.&#10;Photo by Gregory L.
