Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley celebrates Mass for members of a Catholic-Orthodox joint pilgrimage Sept. 18, 2007 in his titular church in Rome, Santa Maria della Vittoria. One of the most notable features of Santa Maria della Vittoria is Bernini’s famous sculpture “St. Teresa in Ecstasy.”
Photo by Gregory L. Tracy/ The Pilot
A number of my photos of Cardinal O’Malley’s titular church in Rome, Santa Maria della Vittoria are featured in a Boston.com online photo gallery to accompany Michael Paulson’s Boston Globe story on the church. The church and its most famous feature, Bernini’s statue Ecstasy of St. Teresa, are featured in the film “Angels and Demons.”
